We had a Blue Moon the other night.\u00a0 For those of you who don’t know what a Blue Moon is, it is when two full moons happen in the same month. The second one is called the Blue Moon.\u00a0 Ever hear someone say something only happens in a Blue Moon?\u00a0 They are not rare, but don’t happen often.\u00a0 We had an especially beautiful clear night for looking at the moon.\u00a0 Not a cloud, except for the cloud of mosquitoes that was hovering around me as I took pictures.\u00a0 I didn’t have the tripod up so I tried to take the pictures with my shaky hands.\u00a0 Let’s just say some of them were not the best.<\/p>\n

No, there were not two moons, just my not being able to hold the camera still.<\/p>\n

It rose behind\u00a0\u00a0the trees across the street.\u00a0 See that figure at the bottom.\u00a0 Kind of looks like an angel doesn’t it?\u00a0 Rising in the mist.\u00a0 I don’t know what it is really.<\/p>\n

That moon would not hold still!<\/p>\n

It was so bright.<\/p>\n

Loved the silhouettes on the moon, or are they moon creatures???<\/p>\n

Finally, a sort of good picture.\u00a0 By then my legs and arms\u00a0were a mass of mosquito bites and I was thinking about going in where I would be safe from the blood thirsty little critters.<\/p>\n

But still, because I wanted to keep my readers happy, I continued snapping pictures.\u00a0 What is that line across the moon?\u00a0 Does it have an equator?\u00a0\u00a0 Or is that a big rubber band holding it in the sky???<\/p>\n

Ack!\u00a0 What is that?\u00a0 Time to go inside.\u00a0 I think this is a giant mosquito coming at me.<\/p>\n

We had one final big swim\u00a0and cookout Sunday with the grandkids.\u00a0 It isn’t very often they all can get together and with school starting and sports, homework, plays and other activities, they won’t be getting together again soon.\u00a0 Anytime I can have them all with me makes me happy.\u00a0 They are all growing so fast and soon will be all grown up, just like our kids did and they will all go their own ways and do their own things, so for this little bit, I will enjoy every minute I have with them.<\/p>\n

The water felt so good.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s been really hot around here lately.\u00a0 The boy cousins were having a great time playing together.<\/p>\n

Our lone granddaughter stayed out of the rough housing.\u00a0 She was smart.\u00a0 Me, not so much.<\/p>\n

I did not want to go in the pool because I knew my hair would get wet and we were going to church that evening, but as I sat watching all the fun and since I was so hot, I decided to get in my suit and join the fun.\u00a0 I told the grandboys I did not want my hair getting wet.\u00a0 No, no, no.<\/p>\n

Well, after one dumped a whole bucket of water on my head\u00a0and almost lost his swim trunks to me, I knew my hair was doomed.\u00a0\u00a0 From then on it was splash Grandma and I enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

I think they are ready for America’s Got Talent.<\/p>\n

Good balancing act, don’t you think?<\/p>\n

I hope my grandchildren will remember all the fun they had at their grandparents’ house.\u00a0 We certainly enjoy them, but boy, was it quiet when they left.<\/p>\n

Down through the leaves<\/p>\n

Of the old\u00a0Oak tree.<\/p>\n

Over the mountain,<\/p>\n

Over the sea.<\/p>\n

Back where my heart is longing to be.<\/p>\n
