David’s brother and sister-in-law visited us this weekend. \u00a0They brought their four grandchildren too. \u00a0We had two of our grandsons with us so we had a full house. \u00a0People were sleeping everywhere.<\/p>\n

I love these two people. \u00a0We laughed a lot. \u00a0I had to leave the table one time after something Terry said because I was laughing so hard. \u00a0I love people who can make me laugh.<\/p>\n

The gang of six. \u00a0The four on the left are Bill and Terry’s grandchildren. \u00a0The two boys on the right are ours. \u00a0They got along really well. \u00a0They are second cousins, I think. \u00a0This will probably be the only time they will ever all be together as we live so far apart.<\/p>\n

We tried to pack a week’s worth of fun in two days. \u00a0We had a cookout and we had sweet corn, so David put the kids to work shucking corn. \u00a0They did a great job.<\/p>\n

“I came all the way to Indiana just to do this?”<\/p>\n

We didn’t make them do child labor all weekend. \u00a0There were fun times.<\/p>\n

Swimming and getting dunked in the pool.<\/p>\n

Hot tubbing. \u00a0Funny how much kids like to get in the hot tub. \u00a0Especially that bald headed kid there in the corner. \u00a0We had to keep him under control at all times.<\/p>\n

David had built everyone a birdhouse and the kids painted theirs. \u00a0Well, some did.<\/p>\n

I did no painting and still managed to get paint all over my hands.<\/p>\n

Terry is a good artist and I asked her if she would paint a birdhouse for me and she did. \u00a0I will show it to you on the next blog. \u00a0It’s really pretty. \u00a0She didn’t get \u00a0to do all she wanted because of time constraints, but I love it.<\/p>\n

There was chicken holding. \u00a0The girls behaved very well with all the handling. \u00a0Penninah likes it.<\/p>\n

I fell in love with this sweet girl. \u00a0I could have kept her, but her parents want her back, so that won’t happen.<\/p>\n

We went to Zaharako’s, a local old fashion ice cream parlor and ate ice cream. \u00a0We took the kids to an inside playground we have in our city and they played there for a while. \u00a0We blew up balloons with lights in them and they waved them at cars at night as they passed. \u00a0We played Dizzios. \u00a0We had a birthday party for the twin boys who turned eight. \u00a0Yes, we tried to do it all.<\/p>\n

They all went to church with us Sunday morning and we filled one and a half pews. \u00a0Then we ate dinner and went swimming again and then they all packed up and left and our house felt so quiet.<\/p>\n

This picture kind of sums up what two pair of grandparents feel like after a full weekend of fun times. \u00a0Bill and Terry still had to go visit some more relatives for a couple of days and then drive back to North Carolina.<\/p>\n

We still had our two grandsons for a little while and I took one on a walk with me and Belle. \u00a0The other one wanted to watch television.<\/p>\n

So we walked about a mile.<\/p>\n

My grandson took this picture of Belle. \u00a0Turned out pretty good I would say. \u00a0They went home, but we will be spending time with them again next weekend. \u00a0Our son also came over from Cincinnati for an afternoon, so we got to visit with a lot of family which is what I love.<\/p>\n
