I am going to try to get this blog written and posted before September is over. \u00a0I really love the Fall, but it is slipping away so quickly. I also love writing my blogs, but lately I haven\u2019t had the time and the one I did write, I trashed it accidentally and now I cannot find it. \u00a0It was a really, really good blog, too. \u00a0Full of a lot of good stuff. \u00a0But now it\u2019s gone and our son, who is computer literate unlike his mother, could not find it. \u00a0It\u2019s out there somewhere in the nether world. \u00a0Maybe some space alien will find it one day.<\/p>\n

So, here I am trying to write another one. \u00a0Hoping it will be interesting and that I won\u2019t lose it, but I live a pretty boring life to some, but that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll start with pumpkins. \u00a0It is the season for them. \u00a0Several years back there was a pumpkin shortage. \u00a0There was a blight or something that killed them off so it was a pumpkin free Autumn and pumpkin pie less Thanksgiving. \u00a0I found myself hoarding cans of pumpkin when I could find them in the store and just keeping them. \u00a0This year there seems to be millions of pumpkins. They are everywhere. In grocery stores, at nurseries, along the road at private stands and almost on every corner. \u00a0Along with mums. Mums seem to be prolific too. \u00a0 I bought three and put them in front of my greenhouse.<\/p>\n

Ah, my greenhouse. \u00a0Nothing living is in it right now, but it\u2019s getting close to time to put flowers inside. \u00a0The first frost is just a few weeks away. \u00a0But we have had such hot days until lately. \u00a0I have never swam in our pool in September because it was usually too cold, but we have had temperatures in the high nineties so in the pool I went. \u00a0It felt good!<\/p>\n

\nThis was a new place we found on one of our meandering rides. \u00a0Not too far from home so we plan to go back. \u00a0And did they have pumpkins! \u00a0Of every variety.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
\nWe like old barns. \u00a0So many are falling in disrepair and will one day fall. \u00a0This old barn probably at one time held sweet smelling hay and cows in the stalls waiting to be milked. \u00a0I spent many hours in the barn on my family farm. \u00a0Playing with kittens born in the stacks of hay, watching my daddy milking the cows, feeding little calves with a bucket, playing basketball in the haymow where Daddy had hung a basketball hoop. \u00a0David\u2019s grandpa had an old barn put together with wooden pegs as our was. \u00a0Two old barns now gone. \u00a0So sad. \u00a0I take pictures of old barns on our rides because one day there will be no more old wooden barns. \u00a0The ones being built now are metal. \u00a0Nice looking and easy to care for, but just not the same.<\/p>\n

People are decorating for Halloween. \u00a0Some even more than Christmas which I find rather sad, but I do like seeing the decorations and I must show you one place that went way over the top. So many skeletons I made David turn around on a busy highway so he could see it and we could take pictures.

\n\"\"<\/a>
\nThis one even had a bag with a skeleton hanging out the bottom of it! \u00a0There must have been at least thirty skeletons in this one yard. Someone really likes Halloween. \u00a0Me, I could take it or leave it, but the decorations sure are interesting.<\/p>\n

The Northeast coast had its first Nor\u2019easter this past week. Heavy rains and flooding. \u00a0Hope this is not a portent of Winter to come. \u00a0I do hope we get snow this year. \u00a0I love a good snowfall when everything looks so pristine and shining under a blanket of snow. But it is supposed to be in the \u00a0high eighties here tomorrow. No rain. No snow!<\/p>\n

We got a new preacher a few weeks back. \u00a0A nice, young \u00a0man with a wife and three young children. \u00a0Been a while since we had a preacher with young children and it is so nice. \u00a0David invited them to a family cookout and they came and I think everyone made them feel welcome. \u00a0It was a fun day. \u00a0David got out the cotton candy machine and the youngest daughter could hardly wait to get some. \u00a0I share her love of cotton candy. \u00a0Only reason I wanted to go to the county fair every year.

\nWhen we take our rides we turn Sirius onto the sixties station. \u00a0Our kind of music. \u00a0Rolling down the road trying to to losin my load, a world of troubles on my mind! \u00a0Did you hum that while reading it? Then you are a flower child. \u00a0I know the words to about every song that comes on. \u00a0When I rode the school bus to school, the driver always had to top songs blaring on his radio. Then I would come home and put my Beatles records on at top volume and I am sure it drove my mother crazy, but you know, she never told me to turn it down. \u00a0Maybe she liked the music, too. \u00a0Another record I got from the library was the songs from the movie, Dr Zhivago. \u00a0I would play that over and over until my brothers would complain. \u00a0I loved the movie, too and when I got married I asked the pianist to play \u201cSomewhere MyLove\u201d from the movie and she did! \u00a0I also wore a mini skirted wedding dress. I was sixties all the way!<\/p>\n

Been doing a lot of paint by number pictures lately. \u00a0They are not your grandma\u2019s paint by numbers. \u00a0Much more detailed and lots more paints.. \u00a0I found one company where you can order 24, 36, or over 100 paint colors per picture depending on how detailed you want it. \u00a0I just finished one with 36 paint colors and it\u2019s pretty detailed. \u00a0I hate to think \u00a0how tiny some of the stuff would be if you had over a hundred paints. I can barely see some things now with a lighted magnifying glass. \u00a0 Painting has become an obsession. \u00a0My quilting has been put on the back burner although I still squeeze it in. I have some things I am making for Christmas, so I cannot show them now. \u00a0Also been working on the William Morris quilts I am making from fat quarter sets of William Morris designed fabric. \u00a0That man designed a lot of wallpaper which is where the designs on the fabric come from. I get six fat quarters of his fabric every month.<\/p>\n

I have gotten this far and not shown you my Halloween decorating, such as it is. \u00a0I don\u2019t go for scary. But, I haven\u2019t taken pictures, so maybe in October, I will remember to show them.<\/p>\n

We took a drive down \u00a0to the river \u00a0town, Madison. \u00a0Seems every time we go there they are having something special going on. \u00a0Last time it was the Regatta races \u00a0on the river they have every year. Side note. \u00a0I babysat for \u00a0one of the girls who won queen at the races. She was a very pretty lady and a teacher. \u00a0I babysat her twins who were adorable. \u00a0This time they were having something special going on, kind of a Fall festival and the streets were crowded with people and there were tents set up selling all kinds of things. We were just driving through this time and headed west to a town where we knew they had a good ice cream shop. \u00a0When we got there, \u00a0David went up to order while I sat at a table and this young man came up behind me and said something like \u201cAre you having a good day.\u201d \u00a0I smiled and said, \u201cyes\u201dand that was the extent of our conversation. He had a couple of other guys with him and he went to pay their \u00a0bill and left. \u00a0I noticed they had a tree service business on their shirts. \u00a0Soon David came back to the table with a funny look on his face and he said, \u201cthat guy paid for our ice cream!\u201d \u00a0Whoa! \u00a0We wondered why he did. Did I look pathetic and he felt sorry. Did we remind him of his grandparents? \u00a0Was he an angel in disguise? \u00a0We will never know, but this is not the first time this has happened to us. \u00a0It got me to thinking though. \u00a0He paid our debt, but Jesus paid the debt for everyone of us on the cross, sometimes called \u201cthe tree.\u201d \u00a0He did it without our asking. \u00a0He did it because He loves us, Took our sins right on himself so if we only believe in Him, we have a free ticket to Heaven. \u00a0It really is that simple. I am not saying living a life for Him can be easy, look at the Nigerians who are being murdered by Muslims for their Christian faith. \u00a0But He calls us to follow Him. I am a follower.
